I’ve written for National Geographic Traveler, Travel Agent and Home & Design magazines and was editor of American Eagle Latitudes and assistant editor at Caribbean Travel & Life. I was also the editor of International Program publications at The Nature Conservancy.

I have an MFA in Creative Writing from Lesley University and a BS in Journalism from Boston University.

In addition to English, I speak Spanish and French and have a good grasp of Italian and Portuguese. I took Farsi lessons for a while. I’ve taken classes at the Corcoran College of Art & Design and Georgetown University, and had the privilege of attending writing workshops at Kenyon College and St. John’s College in Santa Fe.

I’m mother to one extraordinary daughter and one darling dog (see above).
